PaRo Imagini is a collaboration between two artists, Paola Pliatsikas and Robert Neal, for the design and publication of illustrated books and prints.
Paola Pliatsikas was born in Sudan of Greek and Italian parents and lives in North London. She is a painter and works also as a freelance illustrator and art therapist. She gained an honours degree in fine art at Chelsea School of Art, and has a Diploma in psychoanalytic psychology and an MA in the history of film and visual media from London University. Her work as an illustrator reflects her interest in psychoanalysis and a love of India.
Robert Neal lives and works in East Northamptonshire. He also obtained a fine arts degree at Chelsea and has a PhD in art history and theory from the University of Essex. He has a particular interest in eighteenth-century thought and literature, finding there an identification of idea with image, whether in painting or poetry, which naturally leads him to the possibilities for semantic unity in the medium of the artists book.
